Okay…in the spirit of full disclosure…I barely know how to silk screen.  I’ve dabbled, and have seen it done many times.  I studied fine arts and did a lot of work in a textile studio where a lot of screen printing was happening around me.  Some of my best friends are silk screeners!  But I really don’t know how to do it.

I do know however, that it’s relatively simple and cheap to learn it, and to buy all the necessary materials to set up a mini-studio in your home or wherever.  You can do it very low tech if you want to, or step it up a notch and get some more professional equipment.  Either way, I’m going to take myself on a little journey, and learn how to do it.  You can come along for the ride.  I’ll look at a few options for different budgets and space limitations.  We’ll also talk a lot about ideas and ways to generate new ones, including images to work with and a variety of surfaces to print on.

Sooo…I am pretty excited about it.  Hope you are too.  I’m just really introducing myself in this post I guess, and will be fairly busy for the next week or so.  Soon, I’m going to get myself organized and get down to business.  So check back soon to learn how to silk screen for yourself.
